Tuesday, October 7, 2014  Members of the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Dept participated in the annual Tunnel 2 Towers run and raised over $10,000 for the charity!

The Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Dept is selling our 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Pickup. The vehicle has app 33,000 miles on it, is equipped with a 5.7L Hemi engine, 4x4< auto trans, four door quad with 6 foot bed. The vehicle is sold as is and will come with Weathergaurd diamond plate toolbox, whelen freedom lighbar , havis center console with electric whelen siren. 2014 Carnival

Monday, June 30, 2014  The men and women of the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Dept. would like to thank all those who came out to support us in our annual carnival. The fireworks show was spectacular and we would like to thank our sponsors which enabled us to put on such a good show. Pamby Motors Inc., Union Savings Bank, USWU and Tufano Amusements all helped to sponsor the fireworks show.  



Mutual Aid to Vista NY

Thursday, June 19, 2014  Members of the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Dept responded mutual aid to a structure fire in Vista NY on Rt 123. Car 3 Deputy Chief Pambianchi, Tanker 12 and Truck 8 were on the assignment

Wednesday, March 26, 2014   The Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families of the two firefighters who lost their lives today battling what eventually became a 9 alarm fire.  

These two men displayed unparalleled bravery, and will forever be remembered for their sacrifice.

Brush Fire on Pine Mountain

Saturday, November 9, 2013   From Wednesday October 30th- Wednesday November 6th the Ridgefield VFD along with the RFD and State DEEP fought a difficult brush fire on Pine Mountain.  Over the week long fight, units operating included Rescue 7, Tanker 10, Tanker 12, Engine 3, Car 3, Car 4, the ATV, and Fire Police.  

Thank you to the members from Mill Plain Fire Department (Danbury) and the State DEEP for assisting in the efforts to extinguish the fire.  The Fire ended up burning approximately 30 acres.  



Kitchen Fire: Beechwood Lane

Tuesday, June 4, 2013   At 1910 hours on June 3rd, 2013, the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 16 Beechwood Lane for a reported kitchen fire.  Upon arrival the units found a working kitchen fire.  A quick interior attack knocked down the fire and firefighters found did not find any extension throughout the house.  

Units operating on scene were Engine 3, Rescue 7, Tanker 12, Tanker 10, and Car 3 of the RVFD, along with Car 1, Car 2, Engine 1, Engine 2, and Medic 1 of the RFD.

Car 5 investigated the cause of the fire.
